About the role
Vics Food and wine is seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join our team in Sunbury, VIC. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals in our busy kitchen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes from our menu
2. Ensuring high standards of food presentation and quality
3. Adhering to all health, safety and hygiene regulations
4. Collaborating with the kitchen team to optimise efficiency and workflow
5. Providing guidance and training to less experienced kitchen staff
6. Assisting with inventory management and stock control
7. Contributing to the development of new menu items and recipes
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Chef in a similar high-volume restaurant environment
2. Formal culinary qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)
3. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety and hygiene
4. Strong time management and multitasking abilities
5. Passion for creating delicious, high-quality dishes
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills
