Job Opportunity
Mildura Specialist School is seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join its team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in the classroom setting to develop and implement speech therapy programs for students with communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess individual speech/language/communication needs of students across the school
* Implement alternative augmentation communication systems, including keywork signs, PECS, and speech generating devices
* Attend Student Support Group meetings to develop individual goals with teachers and families
* Review student progress and communicate with staff and families to ensure needs are met
* Develop resources for classrooms, class sessions, teachers, and home environments
* Provide assessments for Program for Students with Disabilities applications
* Offer direct Speech Pathology services to groups and individuals
* Maintain records and provide written reports as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech Pathology and has experience working with school-aged children with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
