Northam Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Mathematics Teacher committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for all students. The school stands on the bank of the Avon River and has a proud and rich history of providing a comprehensive curriculum to students in Years 7 to 12 from the Northam and surrounding Wheatbelt districts. With over 650 students, we are the largest school in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
Role
You will be a Mathematics Teacher, teaching across Years 7 to 12, using trauma-informed and restorative practices and student-centred strategies. You will collaborate with the learning area team, the learning community team and the wider school community to support students' academic and social-emotional needs. You will incorporate current and emerging technologies and promote inclusive growth‐mindset learning for all students.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and assess Mathematics curriculum for Years 7‐12.
* Plan and implement trauma-informed, restorative and inclusive teaching strategies.
* Use technology to support learning and assessment.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the school community.
* Monitor and support students' academic progress and social-emotional well-being.
Qualifications
* Professional Knowledge and Teaching Practice that meets WA Standards for Mathematics teaching.
* Experience delivering WACE Mathematics courses or expertise in primary numeracy intervention.
* Ability to use differentiated, inquiry-based, and cooperative learning strategies.

Mobility Appointment
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school, may elect to undertake this role as a 3‐year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
