Part Time (Permanent) 19 hours per week
Schedule
Participate in a rotating roster between the hours of 7am-9pm on weekdays, including shifts on weekends and public holidays.
About the Role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Key Responsibilities
* Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of analysers
* Pre and post analytical specimen handling
* Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
* Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
* Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required
* Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests
* Staying up to date with processing updates
* Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries
* Identifying and resolving problems at the pre-analytic stage
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
* Specimen processing and data entry experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* The ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and work as a team
* Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately
* A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
* Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential
* Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection is desirable
