Offer description

CareerDC Internships charges a fee for the coordination of each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course (where applicable) and support during your internship.

Why Choose This Internship Program?

You’ll get equipped with hands-on work experience in your engineering study field and be better able to take charge of your own career readiness. The Internship Program is designed for engineering students in Australia to gain hands-on industry experience and to fulfil degree requirements.

Who Can Apply?

- University students in Australia
This internship program is a good option if you want local, Australian work experience and academic credit.
It is open to both domestic and international engineering students studying engineering in Australian universities or colleges.
- Recent graduates and students without an internship requirement
If your course doesn’t require an internship, or you’ve already completed your degree, you can still take part by combining the internship with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

Placement Opportunities

Every 12-week placement is tailored to your academic background, career goals, preferred location, and availability.

To give you some examples, the Mechanical Engineering internship host companies include:

- A provider of asset management solutions supporting industries with performance optimisation and sustainable practices
- An established manufacturer specialising in steel wire, fabrication, welding, laser cutting, and bending
- An engineering company delivering technical assessments such as airflow, climate, safety, and movement studies across aviation, energy, security, and building projects

Example Internship Tasks and Learning Experiences

Your tasks and learning experiences will depend on your host company but may include things such as:

- Assisting with performance evaluations of mechanical systems and creating lifecycle plans
- Learning about preparing estimates and works orders for fabrication jobs, liaising with subcontractors, and producing SolidWorks drawings
- Supporting laboratory testing of whitegoods, analysing energy efficiency, and preparing technical reports for clients
