A Statewide VIC hospital requires a Junior Medical Officer in General Practice for an ongoing casual contract. The role is assessment and management of people in police custody – primary health care with mental health and alcohol/drug related issues prevalent. Mix of ED/Psychiatry/GP skills required The shifts are based at Lonsdale St, with potential to require visits to other locations. This could be any police facilities, Most commonly the visits are to metropolitan Melbourne police stations. Reimbursement of travel expenses is paid in addition to the hourly rate of pay. Shift times are 0900 - 1600 (may finish later if needed) and you will always finish back at Lonsdale Street it you are visiting other sites. Clinical staff are always supervised by police or custodial officers.
