Volunteer Roles
* Donations, Laundry and Store Room Volunteer
- Sort and manage donations (toys, bedding, collars, leashes).
- Organise the storeroom and inventory register.
- Move loads of paddles, blankets, etc. through the washing cycle, including drying.
- Shift: Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00.
* Administration Assist Volunteer
- Support the front‑of‑house team with general admin tasks.
- Create adoption packs and pet profiles.
- Shift: Monday–Friday 11:00–16:00.
* Dog Enrichment Volunteer
- Walk, play with, clean dishes for dogs, and restock blankets and toy bins.
- Shift: Monday–Friday 11:00–16:00.
* Cat Enrichment Volunteer
- Brush, play with, clean dishes for cats, and restock blankets and toy bins.
- Shift: Monday–Friday 11:00–16:00.
About you
We are looking for passionate community members to support the shelter. You must be available for a 3.5‑hour shift on your rostered day and meet the following criteria:
* Prompt and reliable.
* Self‑motivated, able to work within a team.
* Able to work indoors and outdoors.
* Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa holder.
* Willing to undertake training and development.
* Willing to obtain a Victorian Police Check and Working with Children Check (organized through City of Ballarat).
* Experience working in an animal environment.
* Good knowledge of companion animal behaviour and council community requirements regarding pet keeping.
* Interest in community and animal awareness.
Applicants under 18 or school‑aged are limited.
