Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the newly created role of Archive Manager for the Broken Hill Outback Archive (BHOA).Reporting directly to the Library Manager this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a role in the transition of the BHOA into a modern and accessible collection.This position will be responsible for the overall management of the Broken Hill Outback Archive (BHOA) - a nationally significant collection located in Australia's first heritage listed city.
The BHOA is comprised of photographs, documents, audio-visual materials, newspapers, textiles, botanical specimens and objects related to Broken Hill's mining, union, environmental and social history.
This position oversees all collection management processes for the BHOA, as well as providing overall administration of Council's collection management system (Axiell EMU) which operates across the Outback Archive, the Broken Hill City Art Gallery and the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum.
The position is involved in planning and developing strategies for the delivery of an effective, industry-standard and customer-focused Archive service and in advising on collection management processes across all of Council's collections.
