About Us:
At St Catherine of Siena we are dedicated to implementing the Vision for Instruction in a positive learning environment that seeks to maintain a child safe environment where the wellbeing of all children in our care is our first priority.
St Catherine of Siena Primary school is seeking applicants that are keen to begin or continue their teaching career in a school that is committed to the Vision of Instruction and practices that are informed by cognitive science. We are currently making meaningful changes to ensure we close educational gaps and maximise the learning of our students in an environment that is routine driven, calm and safe. This is an ideal career opportunity for a teacher who is eager to engage in evidence-based practices, develop their craft and contribute to the success of our wonderful students.
What we have to offer the successful applicant:
* 3 staff meetings a fortnight with these specifically targeted at professional development
* One afternoon every fortnight is a team planning session, in lieu of a staff meeting
* A full day of planning each week with access to supportive curriculum leaders who assist with resources, planning and professional learning.
* In-school instructional coaching to assist in making small, personalised steps to improve teaching practice
* Well resourced, clean classrooms with modern furniture
* Time in Lieu paid within the fortnight - we appreciate and value the personal time of our teachers and their support in engaging in school community events
* Multilit program to target students who require more intensive support in reading
* A behaviour curriculum that supports students and teachers to succeed
The successful applicant will:
Have knowledge in, or a willingness to learn about MAC's Vision for Instruction & Engagement which consists of, but is not limited to;
* Explicit instruction with a multi-tiered system of support
* Use formative and summative assessment to target instruction and make judgments on student progress
* Embed strong, predictable routines into your practice
* Employ responsive teaching strategies by adjusting instruction in real-time based on student understanding and learning needs by using school-wide checking for understanding strategies
* Possess high expectations for all students
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in the areas of curriculum content knowledge and effective instructional routines
* Manage behaviour in line with our Positive Behaviour for Learning framework
* Work productively within a team environment

The successful applicant needs to:
* be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
* be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
* have read and be committed to upholding and maintaining Child Safety Standards.

* hold a current VIT registration
