Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager
Are you an experienced procurement leader with a strong background supporting fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial operations?
We are seeking a commercially driven Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager to lead and transform our sourcing and procurement capability within a fast‐paced fabrication and manufacturing environment servicing the mining industry.
This is a critical leadership role focused on building a scalable, commercially focused procurement function that supports operational performance, project delivery, supplier reliability, and long‐term business growth.
Working closely with Operations, Production, and Finance, you will lead sourcing strategy, procurement planning, supplier management, inventory optimisation, and commercial negotiations across both domestic and international supply chains.
About the Role
This role sits at the centre of a complex fabrication and manufacturing operation supporting mining sector projects and production activities. As such, we are specifically seeking someone who understands the realities of workshop‐driven operations, project manufacturing schedules, materials planning, and operational procurement.
You will be responsible for transforming procurement from a reactive, site‐driven process into a proactive and commercially focused function that delivers measurable value, operational reliability, and scalability across the business.
The role requires a hands‐on leader who can operate strategically while remaining closely connected to operational delivery and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aligned to operational and commercial objectives
* Lead supplier sourcing, tendering, negotiations, and contract management activities
* Manage domestic and international procurement planning across manufacturing and project delivery requirements
* Support fabrication and workshop operations through effective materials planning and procurement coordination
* Drive inventory optimisation, stock control strategies, and materials availability across the business
* Build strong supplier relationships focused on performance, reliability, quality, and commercial value
* Partner closely with Production, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to align procurement activities with manufacturing priorities
* Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks
* Implement procurement governance, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Deliver measurable outcomes across cost control, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and working capital management
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong experience operating within industrial, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering environments where procurement directly supports production and project delivery outcomes.
We are ideally looking for someone with proven experience across:
* Fabrication and manufacturing operations
* Workshop‐driven procurement and production support
* Operational inventory and materials management
* Project‐based manufacturing delivery environments
* Hands‐on leadership within industrial or engineering operations
In addition, you will demonstrate:
* Proven leadership experience within strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or materials management
* Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management capability
* Experience supporting mining, heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or construction sectors
* Strong understanding of operational procurement within production‐based environments
* Ability to balance strategic procurement initiatives with day‐to‐day operational demands
* High‐level stakeholder engagement and cross‐functional leadership capability
* Strong analytical, planning, and commercial decision‐making skills
