This role is available on a residential basis only with regional and interstate relocation packages available to Armidale, NSW.The position will be based at the Hillgrove Mine 25 mins outside of the Armidale township.
This role follows 5 days on, 2 days off roster, 4 days on, 3 days off roster (5:2) (4:3), working 10-hour shifts per day.
Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist, UG Mining Engineer with previous experience in electronic blasting in underground mining, to deliver drill and blast plans that meet safety, cost and productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities:
Design & deliver daily and weekly drill/blast plans that meet safety, cost & productivity targets, & site requirements.
Identify and implement improvements in blasting outcomes, drilling efficiency and compliance with mine plans.
Conduct QA/QC checks to monitor production activities and verify blast performance against plan.
Oversee drill consumables and upcoming design requirements.
Foster a strong safety culture while supporting morale & effectiveness of the mining production & maintenance teams.
Provide timely, high-quality, and cost-effective technical engineering services to ensure production targets are achieved or exceeded.
Deliver reports, handovers & administrative functions in a timely and effective manner.
Maintain strong relationships and clear communication with key stakeholders including site personnel, corporate teams, regulators, suppliers and other industry partners.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Completed training in the use of Orica Icon two wireless blasting systems, highly desirable.
Tickets/Certifications:
4WD experience, an accredited qualification in off-road driving, highly desired.
Senior First Aid Certificate/CPR Qualification, highly desired. (LH1)
Experience:
5+ years underground mining experience.
2+ years wireless blasting experience.
2+ years drill design experience.
Hands-on experience in the underground crush firing process.
Experienced in electronic blasting and monitoring.
Software Proficiency:
Deswik mine planning software.
Driver's License:
Other Requirements:
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
