James Cook University (JCU) is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer in Reproductive and Neonatal Health to contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical education within the MBBS program at the Townsville Clinical School.

This is an excellent opportunity for an active clinical academic to play a key role in shaping future medical practitioners while contributing to collaborative teaching and research aligned to the health needs of Northern Australia.

About the role

In this role, you will support the teaching and assessment of Obstetrics and Gynaecology within clinical rotations of the MBBS program. You will facilitate tutorials, lectures, clinical supervision and examinations, ensuring learning objectives are met and students are supported in their clinical development.

You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Reproductive and Neonatal Health rotation and integrated curriculum, and participate in collaborative research and teaching activities across the College .

Key responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive and Neonatal Health.
* Facilitate lectures, tutorials, clinical supervision, marking and examinations.
* Contribute to curriculum development and coordination of student rosters.
* Participate in collaborative research activities with relevance to regional health priorities.
* Attend College and MBBS academic meetings.
* Support JCU's commitment to reconciliation, equity and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Demonstrate alignment with and commitment to JCU's values.

About you

You will be an enthusiastic clinical educator with:

* Relevant clinical expertise in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Reproductive and/or Neonatal Health.
* Experience teaching and assessing medical students in a clinical setting.
* A collaborative approach to teaching, research and academic service.
* A strong commitment to student learning, professional excellence and inclusive practice.
