Senior Cloud Security Specialist

The Senior Cloud Security Specialist will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the information security framework through the implementation of new initiatives and technologies, as well as the operation of existing security controls and processes.
Responsibilities
1. Design, implement and maintain cyber security controls to protect the systems and services used by Helia.
2. Manage technologies and tools including firewalls (network and web application), proxies, data loss prevention, identity and access management, and security event monitoring (SIEM).
3. Design and review cloud architectures and configurations to ensure compliance with security best practices, architectural design patterns and industry standards, using 'infrastructure as code' solutions.
4. Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat modeling specific to cloud assets.
5. Identify, prioritize, and manage security risks and mitigation strategies across multi-cloud environments.
6. Respond promptly to security incidents, including investigating, analyzing, and mitigating security breaches or incidents to minimize their impact and prevent future occurrences.
7. Incorporate threat intelligence to understand emerging threats and trends, and proactively implement measures to defend against potential cyber attacks.
8. Create, review, manage, and monitor documentation for code, platforms, and services to ensure they are current and aligned with approved standards.
9. Provide feedback to management on the performance, suitability, sustainability, and security of the existing environment, ensuring that solutions continue to meet our requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Infrastructure, developers, legal, compliance, and risk management, to ensure a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity, and effectively communicating security-related issues, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
1. At least 10 years of working experience in cloud and at least 5 years in cloud security
2. Possess relevant cloud and security certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Palo Alto, Zscaler)
3. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure is also desirable, ideally obtained in highly regulated environments
4. Strong understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and best practices
5. Tertiary qualification in an IT related discipline.
6. Viewing cybersecurity from a DevSecOps lens and integrating security practices and principles into the DevOps workflow as code (IaC).
7. Strong knowledge of information security technologies and concepts.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
10. Results driven self-starter comfortable working in a team environment.
