Your role will involve conducting repairs, maintaining machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental protocols. 
Working closely with the Chief and First Engineers, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the vessel's performance and safety standards.Your responsibilitiesUndertaking engine room duties and ensuring machinery maintenanceAssisting with bunkering operations and waste oil pumpingComplying with WHS, environmental, and quality management systemsTraining and mentoring engineering cadetsMaintaining accurate records, including log books and oil recordsPerforming emergency duties as outlined in the muster listSerco is a place for youTo Be Successful In This Role, You'll HaveThe Third Engineer must meet all standards of competence and fulfill the functions in STCW A-III/1 relating to the engineering watch or designated duty engineer in a periodically unmanned engine room.Right to work in Australia (and on an Australian flagged vessel) and holding:AMSA-issued Certificate of Competency as Engineer Watchkeeper (Motor) with the following additional qualifications:Security Awareness TrainingCurrent PassportAMSA Certificate of Medical FitnessValid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)Confined Space Entry & RescueWorking Safely at HeightsAppropriate seagoing experience in the previous three yearsPlease note: This position carries trust and responsibility.
