About the role
As an Analyst, you will contribute to the development of evidence-based advice on economic, commercial and regulatory reform. You will work across government to research and analyse major government priorities, projects and reforms and assist in developing high quality advice to inform policy solutions. Critical thinking, the ability to absorb information quickly and provide succinct and accurate advice are key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities
* Undertaking research, analysis and evaluation of policies and issues affecting the Territory from economic, regulatory and commercial perspectives.
* Assisting in the preparation of a range of high-level documentation including Ministerial and government briefings, policy advice, reports and discussion papers.
* Developing and maintaining effective collaborative relationships across Treasury and other government agencies.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to apply research and analytical skills to provide sound advice on regulatory, economic, or commercial policies, strategies, proposals, and issues.
* Proven experience assisting with the practical development and implementation of economic and/or commercial strategies and policies.
* Sound written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate technical work to a general audience.
* Ability to work as part of a high-performing team, manage competing deadlines and manage own workload and competing deadlines.
* Ability to develop and maintain courteous professional relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
Please note, this role is not suited to candidates with a purely accounting or finance background without experience in policy, strategy or advisory functions.
