Job Overview
The role of Transition Pathways Officer is a key position within the Department of Education's efforts to support students at risk of not transitioning successfully from post-compulsory schooling.
As a Transition Pathways Officer, you will work closely with schools and other stakeholders to identify suitable pathway options for young people and develop effective school-based and stakeholder networks to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Transition Support: Provide case management support to identify suitable pathway options for young people and ensure they remain in an eligible option.
* School Support: Work with schools to develop and refine departmental policies, practices, and procedures relating to students exiting school prior to the completion of Year 12.
* Youth Engagement: Provide appropriate support and intervention to young people and their families to assist in the transition of young people into a viable education, training, or employment option.
* Network Development: Forge links with providers of employment services, community agencies, training organisations, and employers to create opportunities for young people to engage in programs that support successful transitions from school into employment or training.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require strong networking and communication skills, as well as the ability to deliver positive outcomes whilst working autonomously and within a wider team. A candidate with great time management and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders is highly desired.
