About the role

The HR Officer is responsible for strengthening Akubra's ER/IR practices and supporting leaders to cultivate a high performing and engaged culture.

The role will provide strategic and practical support across the full employee lifecycle and play a pivotal role in advising the Executive Leadership Team on people related matters.

This role will lead the charge in creating a workplace where people thrive, and where the Akubra values are lived every day.

What you will do
* Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, advising on workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development
* Play a hands‐on role across HR operations and guidance across the employee lifecycle
* Lead industrial and employee relations, including end to end case management
* Build leader capability through practical coaching on best practice people management and safe work practices.
* Develop and implement ER/IR frameworks, policies and tools that ensure compliance with Australian industrial laws and awards
* Provide expert advice on performance management, conduct, grievances and dispute resolution
* Monitor legislation and industrial instruments to identify risks and ensure best‐practice compliance
* Lead EBA negotiations, manage industrial relations matters, and advise on remuneration strategies
* Champion employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion
* Support talent acquisition and development strategies aligned with business needs
* Lead organisational change and business partnering excellence
About you
* Subject matter expertise regarding Australian Workplace Relations & employment law and regulation, contracts of employment and employment policies and procedures
* Minimum 5-8 years' experience in employee relations or workplace relations
* Strong knowledge of EBA processes
* Proven experience in industrial relations and employee relations
* Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance operational execution
* Experience in manufacturing or growth-focused environments is highly advantageous
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
* Tertiary qualification in HR, Law, Workplace Relations or equivalent experience.
