Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and coordinate the creation, review, and issuance of architectural/construction drawings, ensuring they meet internal quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

* Lead the design, architecture, engineering, and site/production teams to ensure drawing sets are aligned with project requirements.

* Develop and maintain drafting standards, templates, CAD libraries, and best practices.
">
* Review and quality control of drawings prior to issue (checking details, dimensions, notes, compliance, consistency).

* Assist drafting staff in technical problem-solving and provide guidance on complex details.
">
* Monitor throughput, deadlines, resourcing, and risk, and adjust allocations as needed.

* Collaborate in design reviews, project coordination meetings, and client meetings as required.
">
* Contribute to continuous improvement — streamline processes, adopt new tools/technologies, optimize workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Leadership capabilities: ability to manage, mentor, motivate a small team.

* Good communication skills, ability to liaise across disciplines (architects, engineers, site, production).

* Time/project management skills; able to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines.

* Understanding of residential construction methods, structural details, and architectural coordination.

* A relevant qualification (e.g. architectural/building design draftsperson/technical drawing) is preferred.
