We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team here in Hobart. You’ll collaborate to deliver powerful tools through user-friendly and intuitive interfaces. Every aspect of our product design is meticulously thought through and iterated. Your approach to design will reflect this pursuit of excellence and attention to detail.
The role
This role sits within the Product team, reporting directly to the CPO, Claire d’Este. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Co-Founder, and Chief Product Designer, James Cuda. You’ll also collaborate with other designers in both product and marketing departments, as well as software engineers.
You should bring a skill set that combines technical fluency in various software tools, a creative flair, an ability to ideate, and a drive to design industry-leading products. You’ll work directly on Procreate as it evolves and on our next-generation products.
What you'll do
* Create and document processes and procedures.
* Build out our design system, workflow, and component library.
* Maintain and expand our existing design principles and language.
* Collaborate with designers, engineers, and creatives to produce high-quality work.
* Design beautiful and intuitive user experiences, taking big-picture ideas from concept to design.
* Design digital components that improve efficiency and ensure a consistent framework.
Skills
* Extensive experience in design, with a multidisciplinary approach that values technical proficiency, creativity, curiosity, and playfulness. Your portfolio should include elements of graphic design, motion design, and animation integrated into UX/UI of digital products.
* Creative flair and an inquisitive approach aimed at engaging, delighting, and sparking joy in users. Your work should balance functionality and aesthetics, leveraging your technical skills and creative spark.
* Attention to detail and a desire to grow. You should have a keen eye for detail and a hunger to learn. Collaboration with diverse teams to produce pixel-perfect work is essential, as is iterating high-fidelity prototypes with colleagues.
What to expect in the first 6-12 months
* Complete onboarding and get to know your colleagues.
* Understand our product design practices, processes, and frameworks.
* Establish relationships with key stakeholders across departments.
* Support and execute key design projects.
* Become an integral part of the Product Design Team and contribute to shipping products.
