We are seeking a motivated Respiratory Scientist to join our new lung function lab, being established in Canberra.
About Us
Led by a Respiratory and General Medicine Physician based in Canberra, this new venture aims to establish state-of-the-art lung function laboratory integrated within a multidisciplinary specialist clinic. The clinics will serve a growing community need for high-quality, accessible, and patient-focused respiratory diagnostics.
Our lab will be equipped with cutting-edge pulmonary function testing equipment and aim to foster collaboration with on-site physicians.
The website and fit out for the clinic is under processing and will be completed shortly.
About the Role
We're seeking a dedicated and professional Respiratory Scientist to join our supportive team.
In this role, you will:
* Perform a range of lung function tests, including spirometry, DLCO, body plethysmography, 6-minute walk test and more
* Ensure all testing meets accreditation standards
* Provide a calm, clear and supportive experience for patients
* Participate in quality assurance programs
* Work collaboratively with physicians, admin staff, and clinical colleagues
* Assist with lab-related administrative duties
* Have the option to be involved in clinical research projects
What You'll Need
* A degree in Biomedicine, Biomedical Science or equivalent (essential)
* Experience in lung function testing (desirable, but not essential – we can organise training)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong attention to detail and clinical accuracy
* A team-oriented and patient-first approach
* Good time management and organisational abilities
