About the Opportunity
Carbal Medical Services is looking for Vocationally Registered (VR) General Practitioners to join their team on a full-time or part-time basis, based in either Toowoomba or Warwick, QLD.
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Operations Officer and Clinical Lead, you will deliver culturally safe, patient-focused, and evidence-based healthcare. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to shaping Carbal's high-performing, community-led medical model.
This role is best suited to VR GPs who can commence with minimal to no supervision.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Providing high-quality, evidence-based primary health care services
2. Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions
3. Delivering culturally safe and trauma-informed care to a diverse patient population
4. Participating in preventative health programs and health promotion
5. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, Aboriginal Health Workers, and Allied Health
6. Supporting care continuity and integrated care pathways
7. Maintaining accurate and compliant clinical documentation
8. Contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
9. For fellowship-qualified GPs: supervise registrars and contribute to growth of training programs.
10. Option to develop a special interest (e.g. women’s health, dermatology, chronic disease, Indigenous health), with organisational support.
About You
We’re seeking Vocationally Registered General Practitioners who are passionate about delivering high-quality care in a community-led Aboriginal Medical Service.
You are confident practising in the Australian primary care setting and value teamwork, continuity of care, and meaningful patient relationships.
Essentials
1. Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
2. Vocational Registration (VR) on the Australian Medical Council / Medicare Vocational Register
3. FRACGP or FACRRM (or equivalent recognised fellowship)
4. Ability to practise independently in an Australian general practice setting
5. Eligibility to work in Australia
6. Commitment to culturally safe healthcare, particularly for First Nations communities
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

1. Experience working in an Aboriginal Medical Service, ACCHO, or culturally diverse health setting
2. Interest in teaching, mentoring, or clinical leadership

Remuneration is based on a generous percentage of billings, with daily earnings typically ranging between $2,000 and $3,000.
Recent earnings data from our GPs shows that Carbal’s percentage-of-billings model can deliver annual earnings between $305,000 and $398,000, even when working flexible, part-time schedules.
This strong earning potential is driven by Carbal’s multidisciplinary AMS model, where GPs benefit not only from their own consultations, but also from:
