Sterilisation Technicians are key members of the Perioperative and Gastroenterology teams, delivering high-quality services in line with ISLHD requirements and Sterilising Services, Endoscopy Department, GENCA, and AS/NZS 5369:2023 standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Clean, decontaminate, package and sterilise re-usable medical devices (RMD)
* Leak test, clean and reprocess flexible endoscopes
* Conduct and/or assist in the periodic microbiological testing of endoscopes
* Operations of associated equipment including washer disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, automated endoscope reprocessors and sterilisers in accordance with user guidelines

* Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
* Sterilisation Technology Certificate III is required for Sterilisation Technician Grade 2.
* Sterilisation Technician Grade 1 candidates must be willing to obtain the Sterilisation Technology Certificate III within 2 years of employment.
This is a temporary leave relief position until 3 May 2026 with the possibility of extension.
This recruitment may be used to create a talent pool / eligibility list where candidates may be offered casual, ongoing permanent, or temporary full-time or part-time positions within the next 18 months.
