About the role:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to lead the design and development of high‐quality learning programs that build capability across SafeWork NSW. This role plays a pivotal part in creating both accredited and non‐accredited training, including our flagship New Inspector Training Program (NITP),and the continuing professional development for Inspectors. You will also design training that supports other parts of the workforce including operational, corporate and clerical staff
As a senior specialist, you'll ensure all accredited programs meet the Standards for RTOs 2025, AQF requirements, and relevant legislation. You'll work closely with subject matter experts to create engaging and impactful learning that strengthens the skills and confidence of our workforce.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the design and develop of high-quality learning resources and assessment tools for accredited and non-accredited programs, ensuring alignment with the Standards for RTOs 2025, AQF and relevant regulatory frameworks.
* Lead instructional design for flagship programs including the New Inspector Training Program (NITP) and continuing professional development initiatives.
* Partner with SMEs to translate technical and operational content into clear, engaging, learner‐centred training.
* Produce and maintain instructional materialssuch as facilitator guides, learner resources, eLearning modules, and t assessment tools.
* Champion innovation in learning delivery through blended learning, digital tools and emerging technologies.
* Participate in validation and moderation activities led by the RTO and action improvements to training and assessment materials.
* Evaluate program effectiveness, analysing data and reporting insights to governance committees to guide improvements.

You are an experienced instructional designer with strong knowledge of accredited training requirements and a passion for creating high-impact learning. You work well with others,, balance compliance with creativity, and enjoy turning complex information into clear and engaging learning.

* Demonstrated experience designing accredited and non-accredited learning programs.
* Strong skillsin adult learning principles, assessment design, and digital learning.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including working effectively with subject matter experts.
