As Treasury Accounting and Process Manager, you play a key role in leading the accounting function while driving long-term improvements in operational efficiency through strategic use of the Treasury Management System. You enhance system reporting by embedding AI and data capabilities, delivering insights that support smarter decision-making. Collaborative by nature, you work closely with a high-performing team and internal stakeholders to influence value-driven behaviours and achieve strategic goals.
Your deep expertise in treasury systems, data analysis, and modelling enables you to translate complex information into actionable insights that elevate Telstra Treasury's commercial performance.
This role centres on leading strategic transformation within Group Treasury by integrating systems and embedding AI and data capabilities to enhance operational efficiency. It also ensures robust financial and hedge accounting reporting aligned with accounting standards. A key focus is managing stakeholder relationships and supervising accounting functions to maintain strong financial control environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Use your leadership and coaching strengths, along with deep expertise in treasury systems, accounting, and analytics, to guide the accounting function in delivering insights and pre-transaction support across treasury initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within feasible timeframes and aligned with strategic goals.
* Apply your technical knowledge and critical thinking to identify opportunities for straight-through processing, automation, and enhanced use of data and AI within treasury operations.
* Lead accounting function to deliver month-end close activities including P&L and balance sheet management, manual adjustments, and reporting pack preparation-supporting your team to produce high-quality outputs that help stakeholders understand financial performance drivers.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to provide timely and accurate accounting analysis and advice, clearly communicating the impact of accounting policies, risks, and opportunities.
* Champion best practices and a continuous improvement mindset across treasury processes, with a focus on automation and operational efficiency.
* Build strong relationships with business partners, using sound judgement to assess proposals and prioritise initiatives that support commercial outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Degree in Accounting or similar discipline
* Strong Stakeholder Management
* Treasury experience
* Leveraging and driving system change
* Treasury Management System and other related applications
* Advance Excel or other data visualisation or analytics tool / financial modelling
* Bloomberg
