About the role We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager for our world-class Centurion Mine in central Queensland.
This position would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager actively working towards their skill and competency being recognised by the Queensland Board of Examiners (Coal) and becoming an integral part of the Centurion leadership team that is forging ahead to first Longwall coal in early ****.
Responsibilities Control and manage mechanical activities at the Mine.
Develop, implement and monitor mechanical engineering standards as required by legislation and risk assessment.
Stewardship of asset-management practices for the Mine's mechanical plant and equipment to ensure safety and operational performance is maintained at the requisite standard.
Provide strategic mechanical direction relative to design, selection, commissioning, maintenance and overhaul/repair of Mine infrastructure, plant and equipment.
This includes the development and maintenance of the Mine mechanical services blueprint.
Lead investigations of incidents related to mechanical engineering activities to identify causation and develop elimination strategies.
Provide technical support and coaching for internal and external stakeholders relative to mechanical engineering.
Requirements for the position Relevant Mechanical qualification.
Post-trade and engineering qualifications highly regarded.
Hold or advanced in obtaining BOE recognition as a Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Supervisory and risk-management competencies relevant to a Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Experience Greater than 5 years in an equivalent or similar role in an underground coal mine.
Track record of being an industry safety leader for mechanical engineering practice.
Sound ability using contemporary ERP (SAP preferred).
Contemporary understanding of mechanical engineering challenges related to operation of a high-capacity Longwall mine.
Proficient communicator able to articulate mechanical engineering systems and concepts across all levels of the mine operation.
A "can-do" approach to challenges that engages others into action for successful outcomes at the Mine.
The lifestyle This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.
