Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team on site. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide field engineering support for installation of static and rotating equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing mechanical engineering documents, supporting constructability reviews, verifying mechanical installations, conducting site inspections, preparing red-line markups, and assisting in managing punch lists.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review mechanical engineering documents, including P&IDs, isometric drawings, GA drawings, equipment data sheets, piping material specifications, and installation procedures to ensure correct execution on site.
* Support constructability reviews, identifying potential clashes, missing information, or design issues and proposing practical engineering solutions.
* Verify mechanical installations for compliance with project specifications, mechanical codes (ASME, API, ISO), quality standards, and vendor requirements.
* Conduct site inspections and walkdowns, prepare red-line markups, assist in managing punch lists, and support as-built documentation accuracy.
* Assist in piping installation oversight, including alignment checks, pipe fit-up verification, weld maps, torqueing, hydrotest preparation, and mechanical completion activities.
* Support resolution of Technical Queries (RFIs/TQs) by gathering site data, clarifying design intent with the engineering team, and preparing technical documentation.
* Participate in testing and pre-commissioning activities for systems and equipment (e.g., leak tests, functional tests for rotating equipment, equipment alignment verification, system readiness checks).
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
2. Up to 5 years of experience in mechanical construction, piping/mechanical works, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial plant projects.
3. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals (static equipment, rotating machinery, piping, welding, materials).
4. Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO).
5. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and mechanical documentation.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for field engineering challenges.
