We are currently seeking a Casual Caretaker / Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team. The rate of pay for this role is based on the Hospitality General Award.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be trusted to manage your daily workload independently, prioritising tasks and maintaining high presentation standards without the need for constant supervision. This role suits someone who is confident working on their own, takes initiative and can identify and resolve issues proactively. You will be responsible for the overall presentation, upkeep and improvement of the village grounds and facilities, while also assisting with caretaking, basic administration and being a point of contact for the residents onsite.
This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys predominately working outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
Grounds & Maintenance
* General upkeep of village grounds and gardens
* Lawn mowing, edging and garden maintenance
* Minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the village
* Assist with preventative maintenance programs
* Ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained
Operational Support
* Assist with day-to-day village operations
* Monitor common areas and report maintenance issues
* Support the Manager by reporting back on general property matters.
* Assist with resident general enquiries on the ground
* Provide friendly and professional customer service
ABOUT YOU
You will:
* Have experience in maintenance, grounds and gardens
* Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Confident making decisions within your scope of responsibility
* Take pride in your appearance and work standards
* Be self-motivated with strong attention to detail
* Be comfortable using basic computer systems and reporting back to management
* Previous experience in grounds and property maintenance within a hospitality, residential or similar environment is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
REQUIREMENTS
Current Drivers Licence (essential)
Competent in the use of equipment such as:
* Ride-on mowers
* Hedge trimmers
* Whipper snippers
* Chainsaws
* High-powered hand tools
* Basic computer literacy
