Business Analyst Contract with a State Gov Department

Our client is a state government department seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our dynamic team as the third BSA, following internal project transitions. This is an initial 6 month contract with extensions.
Your new role
This role is central to ensuring agile delivery and effective collaboration across development and testing teams.You will:
* Create user stories in an agile way to support delivery.
* Assist with business requirement activities and document functional/configuration requirements.
* Collaborate with developers and testers to translate requirements into actionable tasks.
* Participate in agile ceremonies including sprints, backlog refinement, and stand-ups.
* Support agile delivery processes and, if experienced, manage some agile practices.
* Engage with government stakeholders and agencies to align system outcomes with broader road safety objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
* 3-4 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
* Strong background in agile delivery, including backlog management and sprint planning.
* Experience working closely with developers and testers in collaborative environments.
* Government or multi-agency engagement experience is highly valued.
* Ability to document and translate requirements into clear, actionable tasks.
