Due to growth, we're seeking a Purchasing Officer to join their team.
Within this role you will be responsible for supplier management, supplier sourcing and working with internal teams to gain costings and delivery timeframes on specific jobs to ensure deadlines and client needs are met.
The role: To participate in requesting quotations from suppliers, ensure data is loaded into the system under the correct job including product information, cost, delivery time frames, purchase orders etc To work with suppliers to ensure needs are met and review where cost savings and efficiency gains can be made.
To explore alternate suppliers, where cost savings and/or delivery improvements can be achieved and establish relationships.
To maintain inventory pricing in internal system.
Allocate stock and product to jobs Manage product price and delivery inconsistency, product warrant/defects with supplier.
General office administration Produce orders in Uptick, allocate purchase orders to the correct projects to ensure job costing is achieved What we're looking for: Min 3 years experience in a similar role within the fire industry with a good understanding of the sprinkler and hydrant industry, industrial or service related industry environment Strong planning, time management and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Strong administrative skills with a focus on quality and accuracy.
High level computer skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and following through on tasks from inception to completion.
Ability to follow up on outstanding matters promptly.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with other internal staff, customers and suppliers.
Ability to be ethical in decision making.
