Daily Living Products, a leading supplier of mobility equipment and assistive products, is seeking a reliable and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our new operation in Geraldton.
About the Role:
Join us to support clients by prescribing appropriate mobility and living aids. You'll carry out assessments and equipment trials both in-store and in homes and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Functional Assessments:
Perform comprehensive assessments in clients' homes, in-store, or community settings to determine their needs, abilities, and goals in relation to mobility and daily living.
* Trial and Prescribe Equipment:
Recommend and facilitate hands-on trials of assistive technology, including mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters), bathroom aids, seating, and transfer equipment. Ensure correct fit and functionality for the client's needs.
* Prepare Documentation and Reports:
Complete all necessary clinical documentation, including assessment reports, funding applications (e.g. NDIS, DVA), equipment prescriptions, and progress notes in a timely and professional manner.
* Educate and Support Clients and Carers:
Provide clear guidance and education on the use and maintenance of prescribed equipment. Ensure clients and their families feel confident and supported in using assistive devices.
* Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams:
Work alongside other allied health professionals, case managers, support coordinators, and service providers to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to care.
* Contribute to Continuous Improvement:
Share insights and feedback to help refine clinical processes, contribute to team knowledge, and support the growth of our new Geraldton location.

What We're Looking For
* Qualified Occupational Therapist:
You must hold a current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist and be legally eligible to work in Australia.
* Experience with Assistive Technology:
Previous experience working with assistive equipment and technologies is essential. Familiarity with the NDIS (including AT assessment and report writing), DVA processes, or My Aged Care is highly desirable.
* Excellent Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication is essential. You'll need to clearly explain complex clinical information to clients, families, and external stakeholders, as well as produce high-quality documentation.
* Client-Focused and Empathetic:
A compassionate, person-centred approach is a must. You're someone who genuinely cares about empowering clients to live more independently and with dignity.
* Professional and Self-Motivated:
You are well-presented, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. You take initiative, manage your time well, and have a strong sense of professional responsibility.
* Willingness to Travel Locally:
A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required, as in-home assessments and community visits are a core part of the role.
