About the role

As a Part-time Food Services Manager - Aged Care at Restvale, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services to our aged care residents. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the food services department, including menu planning, kitchen operations, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aged care catering and a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

What you'll be doing

* Oversee the planning, preparation, and service of nutritious and appetising meals for aged care residents

* Manage the kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management

* Develop and implement seasonal menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents

* Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and hygiene regulations

* Collaborate with the clinical team to address residents' specific dietary requirements including modified textures as prescribed.

* Manage the food services budget and procurement of supplies

* Continuously seek ways to improve the quality and efficiency of the food services department

What we're looking for

* Relevant qualifications in catering, hospitality, or a related field

* Experience in a senior food services role within an aged care setting

* Demonstrated ability to manage a team and foster a positive, collaborative work environment

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and the broader care team

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges and continuously improve processes

* Proficient in menu planning, budgeting, and inventory management

* Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in aged care catering

* An understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, specifically, Standard 1: The Individual, and Standard 6: Food and Nutrition.
