This role is demanding and requires a resilient, detail-obsessed professional with extensive experience managing end-to-end AP and AR cycles in a high-volume, compliance-focused organization.This is not your average assistant accounting role.What makes this position unique — and challenging:You will be solely responsible for managing supplier payments from PO to bank execution, with zero tolerance for error.Month-end? You'll need to manage reconciliations, journals, and financial interfaces to tight timeframes with minimal supervision.Stakeholder expectations are high, including working across operational, commercial, and compliance teams daily.Assist in tracking Carbon costs using Sumday.Run basic PowerBi reports.Experience with Lightyear and Medius is mandatory. If you haven't used Lightyear before, this role is not suitable for you.Skills and Experiences:You must have:5+ years’ proven experience in a similar accounting function, preferably in mining, civil, or Indigenous enterprise sectors.Experience with Lightyear and Medius systems — mandatory.Solid command of Lightyear, Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced), and exposure to financial system integrations.The ability to self-direct, anticipate needs, and operate with confidentiality and accuracy.Outstanding attention to detail, especially under pressure.You’ll be expected to:Manage the entire Accounts Payable function — from data entry to supplier payments and PO governance, liaising with Eftsure to ensure supplier information accuracy.Coordinate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage compliance and performance obligations.Assist with credit applications, month-end reconciliations, banking processes, and audit preparation.Handle Carbon Accounting tasks.Perform some reporting duties.Provide short-term coverage for payroll and receivables, requiring a confident and quick learner.Contribute to policy compliance, system improvements, and change management initiatives.Location: Perth-based with flexibility across multiple operating environments.If you’re seeking a low-pressure finance role, this isn’t it.If you are a proactive, tech-savvy accounting professional with high accountability and exceptional system fluency (especially in Lightyear), we want to hear from you.Apply now with a tailored cover letter outlining how you meet the mandatory criteria.
