Hello amazing Early Childhood professionals!
We have a truly unique chance, that combines a little bit of everything with a huge future ahead! Please read the listing carefully, as there are some intricacies that make this role special! Before we begin, because we're genuinely family owned and operated, we'd like to make a point of saying that we like to hire based on culture and how well a person fits into our family - everything on the job can be taught, but nothing can replace family. And we really do mean it from our hearts, we treat our staff like they're our family <3

In saying that, we're truly honest and transparent people, we pride ourselves on it. And before we sell you all of the AMAZING positives below, the truth is that running a family business isn't always a straight forward approach. Sometimes it comes with doing little extras or stuff that's outside the box. Sometimes it takes more effort than just working for a company, doing the requirements and clocking off without a worry. It takes someone who truly loves the centre with all their heart, goes above and beyond and has that little spark of hustle and initiative in them.
If we can describe it, it's the eye for detail and the little things; like doing a little tidy up or a clean, or chatting with us in our whatsapp group after hours or jumping in for an educator who needs a reset or reaching out to a family for that little bit of extra support. Sometimes it's even sitting through a meeting with our own kids in the background! We can't say it enough, when you're a part of us, you really are part of us and we take you in with open arms. Because the reality is, you're our eyes and ears when we're not around and we entrust you with our baby so we want you to look after it as well as we do and we definitely don't micromanage people nor do we want to be breathing down their neck with every instruction. We're in this together, as one <3
If we're honest, our expectation is to love the centre as much as we do and treat it like it's your very own - family run businesses aren't for everyone and that's ok! But again, our personalities are always to be honest, even if it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but we value being transparent and genuine over making a dollar!
We're after an Assistant Director and Educational Leader and, most importantly, fantastic human being, all bundled into one! Scroll down if you want to get to the juicy part of what the role is and what's in it for you.
**But first, get to know us**:
Both of us have been in early childhood for a very long time, with our own unique experiences (we promise we're still young!) and we're very much looking for someone we can pass on all that knowledge and experience to, while they form part of our awesome leadership team.
On one side, one of us is Cert III, Diploma and a Bachelor qualified teacher, bringing over a decade of experience as a director of our other family owned and operated, Exceeding service. Bubbly, positive, approachable and full of life, guaranteed to always have a smile on their face. The other side has been in operations and senior positions for a number of large childcare organizations over the past decade; but as a person, calmer and quieter and likes to be behind the scenes but your typical introvert whose super empathetic and values meaningful interactions rather than big circles. Think kind of Ying and Yang!
**Ok so about that culture**:
As mentioned, we are family owned and operated and we really mean family. If you're one of us, you really do become someone we genuinely care about and will always treat with utmost respect and courtesy, we'll have bucketloads of fun along the way and become really close.
We want someone who is going to come into our family and be one of our own, as well as reflect that within the service and be fantastic representation of us, our values and principles and genuinely be "one of us"! Our team culture is the absolute priority after our children and it's something we protect with our lives, hence why we're VERY selective over who we let into our space - we're only a small service and a small team, so we absolutely make sure that whoever comes into our circle, is going to fit right in! (totally have our permission to ask the educators how true the above holds for them, actually, we want you to).
Being family operated means that it's not always robotic day to day tasks bound by procedures. The whole team chips in to do the "extras" that inevitably arise and everyone goes above and beyond and has each other's backs, even if it's not strictly within the "job description". We don't like this super corporate style, it's not us. Yes running a family business isn't always clear cut, but everyone in the team does the little things that matter, for each other and that's what makes it beautiful.
