About the Opportunity

Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) is a specialist multidisciplinary service supporting individuals experiencing substance use problems, alongside their families, carers and the wider community. Harm minimisation is a key tenet of our model of care, with services delivered across community, outpatient and inpatient settings throughout Hunter New England Health. Our teams include nursing, medical and allied health clinicians, peer support workers and Aboriginal health workers who work collaboratively to provide prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, counselling and case management services. You will receive ongoing support from your Line Manager, District Manager and multidisciplinary team colleagues, alongside access to mentorship, monthly education sessions and professional development opportunities.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will utilise your advanced clinical skills to assess, plan and deliver high-quality, individualised nursing care within a complex clinical environment. Working collaboratively with Hunter New England Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services, you will support primary treating teams while providing a Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison service to Emergency Departments, inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. You will also have the opportunity to share your expertise by delivering in-service training, supporting clinical education and contributing to the ongoing development of specialty clinical practices across the service

Essential requirements:
* Registered Nurse/Midwife appointed to a position classified as such with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience
