About Alkane
Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About the Role
Reporting to the HSEC Manager, the Environment & Community Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for delivering environmental compliance, driving sustainability initiatives, and leading community engagement across the mining operation. The role ensures compliance with Victorian environmental legislation while fostering positive, transparent relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead site environmental management programs, including monitoring, rehabilitation, and statutory compliance reporting.
* Manage community engagement and consultation activities, including stakeholder liaison, community events, and sponsorship programs.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental approvals, sustainability commitments, and community obligations.
* Prepare and present reports to regulators, auditors, and internal leadership teams.
* Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Environmental, and Community Advisors.
* Promote and embed a strong sustainability and environmental stewardship culture across the site.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated senior leadership experience in environmental management within the mining or resources sector.
* Strong knowledge of Victorian environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
* Proven ability to engage effectively with regulators, auditors, and community stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven capability to coach, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
