Overview
An opportunity exists for a Senior Staff Specialist, Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer (General Practitioner / Emergency Physician) to join Integrated Care Services at Bundaberg Hospital. The role delivers high-quality, safe and patient-centred care within an integrated model spanning acute and community settings. The position supports initiatives aimed at reducing avoidable hospital presentations and admissions, improving care coordination, and strengthening partnerships across primary and secondary care. Responsibilities
* Provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of Integrated Care Services, including the ED Avoidance model (STREAM) and/or Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
* Perform such services as may be reasonably directed from time to time by the Professional or Operational Manager.
What we\'re looking for
* Experience in an acute/trauma teaching hospital environment.
* Ability to work in a collegiate partnership with clinicians, nursing staff and managers.
* Ability to provide clinical leadership and facilitate multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Maintenance of a clinical appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia with current annual practicing certificate.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM), RACGP or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), including CPD upkeep and good standing as required by AHPRA for specialist registration.
* Specialist Registrants preferred; non-specialists or overseas trained specialists may be considered with progression towards fellowship.
* All qualifications should be submitted to AHPRA; copies must be provided to enable awarding of Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) prior to commencement.
* All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee before commencement.
* Appointment requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate authority; provide certified copies prior to clinical duties.
