About the Role
As a Draftsperson at ECLIPS, you will work closely with our Chief Engineer and broader engineering team to produce high-quality technical drawings and 3D models that support a wide range of mechanical and structural engineering projects.
You will be responsible for developing detailed designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturability and efficiency. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Convert engineering designs and concepts into accurate technical drawings.
* Liaise with engineers to gather structural and product requirements.
* Create high-quality 3D models using SolidWorks (or equivalent) from sketches and design concepts.
* Prepare and review drawings to ensure they meet engineering, fabrication, and machining standards.
* Demonstrate advanced proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) application across all technical drawings.
* Identify potential manufacturing issues and propose design improvements.
* Ensure all drawings comply with applicable legislation, codes, and quality standards.
* Manage workload effectively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
* Communicate regularly with the Chief Engineer and project stakeholders.
* Contribute to team and project meetings as required.
* Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including design logs and change registers.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or similar).
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Draftsperson or in a similar drafting/design role.
* Formal training or extensive experience with SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software).
* Proficiency in any professional 3D CAD software is acceptable as an alternative to SolidWorks.
* Demonstrated ability to produce accurate technical drawings and 3D models.
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
Preferred:
* Trade background or practical workshop experience.
