Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes (CEWF) is seeking a capable and professional Payroll Officer to join our Catholic Education Office payroll team, based in Forbes.
This permanent, part-time role offers flexible working arrangements and would suit a highly organised individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings strong attention to detail.
Flexible Work Options
This role is 22.5 hours per week and may be worked flexibly, including:
* 3 days per week, or
* 4–5 days with reduced daily hours (ideal for working within school hours)
About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and Head of Corporate Services, the Payroll Officer supports the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services across Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes.
The role includes payroll processing and related administrative functions, such as recruitment onboarding, employment contracts, classifications and compliance requirements. You will liaise regularly with school-based staff, principals and external stakeholders and are expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll entries in line with fortnightly payroll cycles
* Maintain payroll systems in collaboration with the Payroll Manager
* Provide payroll support to staff via phone and email
* Support onboarding of new employees, including accreditation and WWCC compliance
* Prepare employment contracts and ensure accuracy of documentation
* Assist with staff leave processing when required
* Ensure records are accurate, complete and appropriately filed
About You
You will be a highly organised and reliable professional with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Essential skills and experience:
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft and Google applications
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to self-check work and work with minimal supervision
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Capacity to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable:
* Previous payroll experience
