Southern Truck Centre Pty Ltd is seeking to appoint a 1st or 2nd Year Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. The role will be based at the Dealership located in Queanbeyan.
Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, you will be part of a dynamic, fast paced and professional workshop team and will have the opportunity to enjoy a long and fulfilling career with our company.
To be eligible for this apprenticeship you need to be well-presented, hardworking, punctual and have a good mechanical aptitude. You must be dedicated, willing to undergo formal as well as on the job training and commit to a 4-year apprenticeship (1st Year candidates).

Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Assist workshop staff to ensure duties are being carried out efficiently and accurately
* Assist workshop staff with preventative workshop maintenance
* Properly maintain materials, tools and equipment
* Assist in the securing and lockup of vehicles that are under workshop control
* Assist in cleaning and keeping the mechanical workshop and surrounds tidy
* Attend and participate in all classes at an approved TAFE college as required in accordance with TAFE policies and regulations
* Learn basics of frontline service staff as well as warranty and costing departments.
* Attend and complete relevant on‐the‐job training as required
* Work towards achieving to become a qualified Technician
To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Strong verbal communication
* Ability to work diligently, independently and as part of a team
* A passion for the automotive industry
* A positive attitude is essential
* P1 Driver's Licence preferable
