Job Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Professional to support a world-class rotary-wing platform as an Aircraft Engineer - Mechanical. This role is based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Chinook Integrated Support Services Program.
As an essential member of our team, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of Boeing CH-47F Chinook mechanical, airframe and engine systems and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
You'll conduct and supervise maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your work will ensure that the Chinook fleet remains operational and ready for critical missions.
Requirements
We require:
* A Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) and a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) Category B1.3, preferably with CH-47F Type Rating.
* Proven knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework.
* Previous experience as a maintenance certifier/trade supervisor, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit, and organisational goals.
* Good knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety procedures; along with experience in computer-based maintenance management systems.
Candidates must successfully undergo vetting for Government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by us. This requires full disclosure of relevant information and the ability to verify your background from birth to present.
