Role Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual patient and newborn care.
- Provide a standard of care according to the individual’s level of experience and education, maintaining high quality nursing care within a secure environment.
- Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication.
- Work in partnership with patients and families in decision‑making regarding provision of care, promoting beneficial relationships.
- When required, work on other wards in the hospital.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum of 3 years neonatal nursing level 2 nursery experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery.
- Working with Children check (if relevant).
- Commitment to quality patient care.
- Compliance with ACQSHC national standards.
- Sound clinical decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Works well independently and within a team.
- Post‑graduate qualifications in neonatal nursing (or working towards).

Applicants will be required to provide a current national police check (no more than 3 months old) and a current working with children check prior to appointment. Persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
Remuneration
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020‑24, ranging from $35.46 to $49.59 per hour.
