Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Library Assistant to support our library and museum services on a part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service to visitors, responding to enquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
* Assist with the maintenance of the presentation and organisation of library and museum collections, ensuring they are clean, tidy and easily accessible.
* Support research requests and basic technology troubleshooting, helping visitors to access information and resources effectively.
* Contribute to a safe, welcoming and engaging community space, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve this goal.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a library or customer service environment, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Strong organisational ability, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Confident using library systems, Microsoft Office and other relevant software, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, visitors and external partners.
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, with a commitment to quality and excellence in all aspects of work.
