This role is responsible for supporting the operations of a scientific services team. The successful candidate will provide technical and logistical outcomes that maintain operational and performance targets.
The main responsibilities of this position include:
* Registering all job submissions in a laboratory information management system and providing advice and assistance to clients in sample collection and handling.
* Maintaining levels of critical spares, chemicals, and consumables in consultation with scientists, senior laboratory technicians, and laboratory assistants.
* Providing initial advice and recommendations to clients and customers relating to their sample and testing requirements.
* Raising work requests, work orders, stores issues, and purchase orders, and organizing external supplies in accordance with established procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Certificate III in Business or Laboratory Skills, or relevant equivalent experience in a scientific enterprise.
* Extensive experience in providing business support to a small enterprise, including frequent and accurate data entry.
* Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including the ability to learn new systems and applicable data entry rules and processes.
* Strong customer service skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, clients, and stakeholders.
* Strong attention to detail, with experience in accurate and timely data entry in a fast-paced environment.
* The ability to critically examine business processes and identify areas of improvement and efficiencies.
* A current 'C' Class Drivers' Licence.
