Sexual Assault Counsellor - Aboriginal identified

About the Role

This role provides culturally safe, trauma-informed counselling and support to Aboriginal children, adults and families impacted by sexual assault and interpersonal violence. Working in partnership with local communities and services, you will help improve access to care and support healing and recovery. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with strong clinical and cultural supervision and development opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include.

* Providing trauma-informed, culturally safe counselling and therapeutic support
* Undertaking holistic psychosocial assessments and complex case management
* Working closely with Aboriginal communities, leaders and services
* Participating in community education, engagement and prevention activities
* Contributing to service development, quality improvement and team initiatives
* Participating in a 24/7 on-call roster for crisis response (with support)
* Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.

Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
Position Classification: Dependent on qualification (Position Description)
Remuneration: $65,012.00 – $138,482.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

What We're Looking For

* Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement (Section 14 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
* Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Graduate Certificate in ECAV qualification pathway - Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) with demonstrated Cultural expertise
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities and understanding intergenerational trauma.
* Skills in child-centred, family-focused counselling and case management.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel.
