Hear from our Engineering Design team

George shares:

I joined Millar Merrigan as a Senior Civil Engineer, bringing a diverse engineering background and a range of technical approaches. Over the years, I progressed into project management and now my position is Principal Engineer.

My role involves delivering subdivision design packages, reviewing plan sets, mentoring team members and keeping up to date with the latest industry standards. I also provide technical advice to clients, tailored to their specific project development requirements.

Wetland design has become an increasingly important aspect of the industry and I look forward to the challenge of further developing my knowledge in this area on learning the technical specifications.

I find working at Millar Merrigan highly satisfying due to the comfortable environment and work/life balance approach. We have a strong work ethic with a clear focus on technical excellence. While my role can be challenging at times, it is equally rewarding. As a team, we work towards self-autonomy through continual upskilling and mentoring, and we encourage exposure to industry events and ongoing engagement with the latest standards.

Tina shares:

As a team leader, I mentor junior engineers, deliver technical training, and regularly share industry best practices and updates with my team, ensuring that any amendments to relevant codes and standards (WSA, EDCM, MRWA, etc.) are reviewed and implemented in a timely manner. My role also includes tracking project status and overseeing team progress.

I hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and have over 10 years of industry experience. Recently, I attained Chartered status in Civil Engineering, marking an important milestone in my professional journey.

Like many of us, work can be intense at times, but what truly makes the difference is the environment. At Millar Merrigan, I value the strong support and the genuine willingness of colleagues to help one another. We learn together, share knowledge, and build friendships. The workplace is non-judgmental, which creates a safe and positive environment to grow.

I enjoy my role as it combines strong technical elements with opportunities to further develop my leadership skills. Mentoring young engineers, supporting them, and witnessing their growth and progression has been incredibly rewarding. As an experienced engineer, problem-solving and thinking outside the box continue to drive me forward and motivate me to build on my technical expertise.
