About The Role
As a Home Claims Assessor, you will be the face of Suncorp for customers who have experienced property loss or damage. You'll work across a variety of claim types—from everyday weather events to large‑scale natural disasters such as cyclones, bushfires and floods.
This is a mobile, on‑road role involving on‑site and virtual assessments, collaboration with builders and specialists, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
Conduct on‑site and desktop assessments to determine property damage, policy coverage, scope of works and claim quantum
Develop accurate, cost‑effective repair scopes in partnership with builders and specialists
Communicate clearly with customers, Claims Managers, repairers and suppliers to keep claims moving smoothly
Support Claims Managers by identifying customer resolution strategies and minimising escalations
Determine fulfilment methods that balance customer needs with business outcomes
Identify customers experiencing vulnerability and take appropriate action
Respond to requests within agreed timeframes
Travel and occasional deployment across Australia as required
What You'll Bring
Experience in home insurance, building trades or previous assessing experience
Trade qualifications or residential construction experience (essential)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to compile scopes of work and repair plans
Confidence, resilience and a genuine passion for helping customers
A full, clean driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
