BAT Australia is looking for a Stock Controller to join their Supply Chain - Logistics Team based in Sydney.
**Purpose Statement**
The Logistics function in BAT is responsible for controlling inventory and ensuring delivery on time and in full to a very dynamic trade environment. It is responsible for ensuring that sufficient inventory levels are held across the multiple warehouses across Australia in order to meet customer demand. The cost of running the 3PL business model is one of high value (approx. $26 Mn per annum) and this role must ensure that activities are carried out in the most optimal way to control this cost base.
In this role reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all customer orders will be fulfilled by ensuring accurate stock is available in the right location whilst ensuring company targets are met and optimal warehouse operation. You will work collaboratively with the teams to drive process, cost and service improvements across BATA's Supply Chain business. This role will also ensure completion of inventory management controls in line with company policies and procedures
**What you will be accountable for?**
Business 
- Ensure Third Party Logistics provider performs inventory stock takes and cycle counts as per BAT stock policy ensuring physical and system count verification and negotiate sign off with the 3PL prior to posting the final stock reconciliation in the computer system. 
- Manage the transfer of stocks from state to state warehouses through the initiation of Stock Transport Orders (STOS) via SAP DRP system ensuring sufficient stock transfer to maintain constancy of supply and ensuring nil stock outs in warehouse when there is stock in other states.. 
- Handle stock distribution across warehouses as per "First Expired First Out" principle and drive reduction in inventory write offs due to aged stock whilst also ensuring cost efficiency. 
- Review and analyse Key Account specific buy plans, product ranging plans, demand and sales run rates ensuring sufficient stock levels in BATA warehouses to not impact customer order fulfilment and achieve 99.9% OTIF target in cooperation with the Planning teams. Engage regularly with BATA State Manager and teams to obtain state specific sales plan and aid delivery of those by ensuring sufficient stocks are available. 
- Manage stock receipts in coordination with Singapore Planning Hub and BATA Planning team, and external parties including the 3PL provider and Cartage provider such that supply is maintained to cover customer demands, stock on hand targets are met and cash flow is not adversely impacted. 
- Liaise with 3PL warehouse personnel to ensure the timely (within 24 hours of arrival) and accurate processing of all trade returns credits/debits and damaged goods in all warehouses are adhered to according to BAT quality and compliance practices. 
- Investigate and resolve all anomalies related to physical and systems stock discrepancies, ensuring mínimal stock keeping discrepancies. If necessary, escalate issues to the appropriate Head Office personnel to achieve a resolution within a reasonable timeframe. 
- Support NSC and 3PL with processing of customer claims for order errors, damaged stock and delivery issues. Engage Channel Business Manager/ Executive as second tier support for escalation and resolution. 
- Ensure 3PL carries out weekly tobacco beetle inspections, monitor results and report any reported tobacco beetle infestation immediately to the Managers, making sure of timely remedial actions by 3PL. 
- Ensure Key Account deliveries can be supplied according to receiving location pre-determined time slots and negotiate ad hoc delivery windows with the BATA Key Account team, Customer and DHL Transport Manager as required. 
- Manage logistics relevant activities for the implementation of New Product Introductions to ensure stock availability in warehouses at specified dates to meet Marketing launch objectives. 
- Maintain all records in such a way that any ad hoc or planned internal and external audits or queries from Australian Border Force or Customs are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner. 
- Complete all Forecast to Stock and Inventory Management SOx compliance controls as per agreed schedules. Perform Endmarket SOx Operating Effectiveness Testing in accordance with communicated schedule. 
- Perform regular warehouse reviews and audits of saleable and non-saleable stocks, warehouse conditions and other relevant items in accordance with BATA Stock Management policy.
