Lead, develop and manage a service area that provides accommodation support for people with an intellectual disability and their families.
The nature of the service delivery in Disability Services Accommodation Support (DSAS), requires close team-oriented relationships with non-government organisations and other government agencies within the community.
As Manager Your Responsibilities Are
- Developing, implementing and monitoring continuous improvement systems for the provision of quality services that comply with legislative standards.
- Contributing to the development of new initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of services to respond to the needs of people with an intellectual disability and their families.
- Providing leadership and support to staff through the implementation of positive management practices and policies.
- Adhering to all legislation relevant to the public sector, the department and people with a disability.
- Nurtures internal and external relationships by building and sustaining positive relationships with staff, stakeholders and professional networks.
- Proactively engages in negotiations for a mutually beneficial outcome. You provide constructive and regular feedback to staff and when required you deal with underperformance of individual staff promptly.
- You demonstrate your consultation and negotiation skills with stakeholders, staff and colleagues.
- You present information in a clear, concise and articulate manner both verbally and written.
- Recognising and contributing to the DSAS Governance Structure, supporting quality outcomes for clients through the delivery of quality services and continuous improvement.
Your mandatory requirements
- Open “C” class Australian driver's licence.
- Holders of this role are required to be on call to provide out of hours support and coordination.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
