As Manager, Finance, you will provide strategic financial leadership, expert financial advice and comprehensive business analysis to drive value, compliance and sustainability improvements for Forensic Science Queensland. You will lead the achievement of budget outcomes through the provision of specialist financial and business management advice and manage low to medium value and low to medium complexity procurement activities in order to deliver value for money. You will optimise and ensure the integrity of FSQ's financial accounting records and systems by leading review, audit, optimization and maintenance activities in accordance with accounting standards, auditing requirements, legislative and departmental requirements.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability
* Demonstrated ability to provide strong strategic leadership, direction and expert advice on all financial management issues to executives, senior management and other employees, using financial performance reports, data from other sources and knowledge of policies, procedures and standards to support advice.
* Highly developed ability to provide quality management accounting and reporting services, including proven ability to coordinate efficient budget and forecast processes, and produce financial analysis and reports within a tight timeframe, high pressure and fast-moving environment.
* Extensive experience in the use and maintenance of financial systems, reporting and analysis tools, and ability to communicate this complex financial information to executives and senior management to support decision making.
* A superior level of interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills to negotiate, collaborate and influence better financial outcomes for FSQ across a range of levels and stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to operate independently and use initiative to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and achieve results within tight deadlines in an environment of change.
* Demonstrated experience in leading procurement activities, including identifying opportunities to improve value delivered and in delivering the initiatives required to secure that value.
* Highly developed supplier engagement and management experience including attending supplier meetings, providing constructive feedback to suppliers based on evidence and negotiating to resolve minor contract issues.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contemporary procurement and category management practices and issues, relevant regulations and the ability to deliver best‑value quality customer services.
* Strong experience in the use of SAP, Tridata and Microsoft Excel would be highly regarded.
