Amazon Corporate Network Automation Engineering provides mission‐critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, infrastructure equipment, and 1,000,000+ internal users. In this role you will design, automate and scale next‐generation network architectures.
Key job responsibilities
* Automate the deployment of network device gateways using infrastructure as code across all network fabrics, with tools such as CDK and Python.
* Automate the deployment of network infrastructure that supports AWS services.
* Design the next generation of security/edge network using cloud‐based technologies (AWS CloudWAN, Transit Gateway, NAT gateways, ANF, DX Gateways, Lambda, and other virtual gateways) to serve 500+ offices.
* Deploy, scale and automate the network across many office and CPOP locations, including existing footprints and new sites.
* Work closely with automation teams to define platforms and frameworks that enable unprecedented volume scaling.
* Create and review documentation and processes for network implementation, deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge‐transfer material, etc.
* Lead design, network/code, and security reviews across teams to identify risks and prevent bugs before production release.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills, and has a successful track record of designing simple, scalable solutions, troubleshooting complex network problems, and delivering innovative solutions. The desire and ability to work in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment is essential.
About the team
We are responsible for edge network connecting 500+ remote offices to the core network and to AWS cloud. We own network standards, deployment mechanisms, automation, and delivery of large programs, including AWS VPC transit‐gateway‐based networks that connect traditional networks to native AWS. We also write automation for automatic deployment of configuration and operating systems at scale for tens of thousands of devices in the enterprise network.
Basic Qualifications
* 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
* 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
Preferred Qualifications
* 1+ year of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
